My Fellow DeadJournalians,
For the past 5 years I have funded and ran this site entirely by myself. All while holding a full time job as a Pharmacist. For the past year this site has caused me more headaches and anxiety that I could have ever anticipated.
As a last ditch effort to save my sanity and keep the site running, I approached Brad from LiveJournal.com hoping he would take over the site to keep the community running. To my surprise, he responded favorably and we got started on details.
For the past month we have been integrating the business and technical sides of the two sites.
I feel that this change is for the better of both sites and will cause the community to grow as a whole.

If you were born in a box, for the past 20 hours, DeadJournal looked like LiveJournal. The rumor was that LiveJournal had bought DeadJournal. We even had a mock LiveJournal-like DeadJournal logo.
This was an april fools joke. Duh. You would not believe the amount of hate mail and bitching I recieved in the past 24 hours about it. It turns out that most of the people got the joke, but a whole buttload were freaking out and in a tizzy.. I'll post most of the good emails (without names of course) later to another community for public viewing..
A lot of planning and work went into making this happen as well as it did. I would like to publically thank Brad and Jesse from LiveJournal.com for providing me with the idea (Brad) and for letting me borrow the xcolibur theme (Brad/Jesse). Yes, Brad from LiveJournal was in on this too, and all emails sent to deadjournal-merge@livejournal.com were forwarded to him and myself..
Brad and I cooked this plan up at the start of this month, and finalized the planning about a week ago. Last night Brad called me, and it was a go.
Thanks to all who really made this worth while.. Im sorry if I struck a nerve with some of you (whom cant take a friggin joke).. For all the work I put into this place, I need to have some fun with you all once in a while.. :)
I'll be more serious here in the future, except on april fools day.. :)
